RACE RULES

01

Eligibility and preparation

  1. 2027 qualification: at least one completed full-distance 226 km triathlon in the previous 24 months, in under 14 hours. This refers to the distance, not the IRONMAN brand. Qualification is subject to organiser verification.
  2. No separate doctor-issued medical certificate is required for 2027. Athletes are responsible for preparation and assessing their medical and physical fitness, declare fitness in the application and sign the waiver / participant declaration again at on-site check-in.
  3. Athletes must be insured throughout the event. Check that the policy covers this type of endurance competition.
  4. The minimum age for participation in 2027 is 18.

Swim

  1. Wetsuits and goggles are permitted. The organiser-issued cap is mandatory and its number must remain visible, including for relays.
  2. Paddles, fins, pull buoys, snorkels and other assistance devices are prohibited. The general rules also prohibit swim drafting.
  3. The athlete is accompanied by their own support crew from the bank. The team supplies its own nutrition at the designated platforms along the course.
  4. The organiser monitors athletes and crews; breaches may result in a time penalty or disqualification of the entire team.
  5. For 2027, the swim cut-off is 14:00, six hours after the 08:00 start. The Day 1 daily cut-off is 20:00, twelve hours after the start.

Transition

  1. Do not handle another team’s equipment. Your own crew may assist you.
  2. The organiser may inspect bikes. Mount only at the designated point, with your helmet on and fastened.

Bike — days one and two

  1. Both primary and spare bikes must be inspected at check-in. The athlete remains responsible for their condition. A spare may be used if the primary bike has a technical problem.
  2. Accompaniment on the bike course is prohibited. Drafting behind another bicycle or vehicle is prohibited.
  3. Follow traffic rules and organiser instructions. Responsibility for incidents is governed by applicable law.
  4. The race number must be visible on every bike, including a spare. Wear your bib on the lower back; place the supplied stickers on the frame or seatpost and helmet.
  5. Headphones, radios, MP3 players and devices that impair hearing are prohibited.
  6. For 2027, the daily cut-off on both Day 1 and Day 2 is 20:00, twelve hours after the 08:00 start. Crew supplies are handed over in the slowing lane by the tower.

Run — day three

  1. Complete the entire course by running or walking. Your bib must be visible from the front throughout.
  2. At most one bicycle escort / pacer is permitted during the run. The escort may not provide prohibited physical assistance or create an advantage contrary to the rules; exact operational rules will be published before the race.
  3. The organiser may withdraw an athlete whose health makes continuing unsafe.
  4. For 2027, the run-stage daily cut-off is 20:00, twelve hours after the 08:00 start.

Your support crew

  1. A personal crew is mandatory: a minimum of 1 and maximum of 4 members. Appoint a captain to speak for and coordinate the team.
  2. All crew members attend check-in. The athlete and captain must attend the pre-race briefing.
  3. The crew supports its own athlete but must help others in an emergency. Each team pays for its accommodation, food and other logistics.
  4. Bring nutrition and hydration for the entire race. Aid stations are not guaranteed; any support on the run is supplementary. Toilets and showers are available at the venue.
  5. Hand over food, spare parts and other items only in designated areas.

Timing, fair play and penalties

  1. No time allowance is made for an individual athlete’s mechanical problems, stops or unforeseen circumstances.
  2. Neither athlete nor crew may use prohibited means to gain an advantage. The general rules prohibit drafting during swimming, cycling and running.
  3. The organiser may inspect equipment before each stage. Breaches may result in disqualification; the swim rules also expressly provide for time penalties.
  4. Under the original rules, the award and designation “Ultraman” are reserved for athletes who finish within the limits. This does not assert an affiliation or licensing relationship with another organisation.
  5. An athlete who misses the time cut-off is not automatically entitled to remain on the course. Follow organiser and medical instructions and respect course closure.
  6. If racing is stopped, the organiser will communicate how times and final results are determined.

Safety and medical arrangements

  1. For safety or weather reasons, the organiser may alter distances or stages, suspend racing or cancel a stage. Changes will be communicated as circumstances permit.
  2. Each athlete is responsible for appropriate medical insurance and their fitness to compete. Details of medical support and emergency procedures will be provided in race-week instructions. In a life-threatening emergency call 112 or 155.
  3. The organiser reserves the right to assess an athlete’s condition and withdraw them for safety reasons. Follow medical personnel’s instructions as well.
  4. Respect other participants and the venue. Do not litter or endanger others; inform the organiser if you withdraw.

Relays — historical rules

  1. Relays are not confirmed for 2027. These historical rules remain in the archive, not as an open entry category.
  2. Swim handovers took place on the starting pontoon by passing the cap; failure to do so resulted in disqualification. A handover was not required after every lap.
  3. The swim-to-bike handover took place at the transition exit. Bike and run handovers involved passing the bib in the designated zone, not necessarily after every lap.

Entry fees, transfers and force majeure

  1. The 2027 entry fee is CZK 15,000. Ordinary athlete withdrawal does not qualify for a refund.
  2. An entry may be transferred to another eligible athlete up to 30 days before the event. The replacement must satisfy all qualification and registration requirements and the organiser must confirm the transfer. To request a transfer, contact the organiser at ultraczech515@gmail.com.
  3. If force majeure prevents the event before the start, the organiser may postpone it and transfer the entry to a replacement date or future edition. The specific solution must comply with applicable law and participants’ mandatory rights.
  4. If force majeure or a serious safety condition occurs after the event has started, the organiser may stop or cancel the race or affected stage. The race is not automatically replayed or rescheduled; athletes must comply with organiser, emergency-service and medical instructions.
  5. These terms do not exclude liability or rights that cannot validly be excluded or waived under Czech law.
